I recently left Verizon and jumped into my fiance and his brother's at&t plan, because they already were paying for a 3rd line. I joined on 3 days before the end of the billing period, for which I wasnt going to pay since they already had the line and were paying for it. I'd paid for my phone installment dec 3rd, and Dec 6-Jan 6 was my first full bill. On Jan 7, the brother called, yelling that if I didn't pay my $90 third, our phones would be shut off. I explained that my impression was that that shut off was for a preexisting balance that I had nothing to do with. You can't possibly be shut off for a bill that just ended yesterday! ! I told him the preexisting balance was on them 2, and I'd pay my 3rd of the rest of our balance which will be due Feb 3rd-but he says that what's due on feb 3rd is payment for Feb 6-Mar 6. We don't have prepaid phones! I understand payment arrangements are between us, but my question is, the portion of our balance that we were going to get shut off for was a passed due balance, not the bill that closed out the day before, correct? And what is due Feb 3 is in fact the billing period which ended on jan 6, right? Less than 5 weeks after signing into their contract, I'm being screamed at for not having payment for a bill that just closed the day before. I'm not going to get tricked into paying an extra month.
