After receing my brand new iphone6 back in Sept. I went to the att store (Valley Fair Mall in San jose) to get a iphone cover. I walked in and was told what i was gonna do with my old phone. I siad probably sell it online. The representative recommended I activate an additional line and receive a $100 bill credit courtesy of ATT. At the time AT&T was running promos to prevent a mass exodus to verizon and other carriers. I said yes. And agreed to add the line even for exisiting customers with a bill credit coming my way. I called back the following two bill periods and was surprised not to receive the credit. The agent I spoke to reviewed my account and said I needed to have the line activated for at least 45 days to be eligible for the credit. I was a few days short of the 45 days. The agent said just wait till next period and call back if there was a problem. Well I decided I would only pay the amount due minus exactly $100. After 3 billing cycles my phone service was disconnected and told to immediately pay the $100 past due. I explained what happened and they told me I had to wait 3-4 cycles to receive the credit. the agent said the exact statement 5 different times and offered no other solution. There were uncomfortable silent moments after she refused to make an adjustment without me first paying the outstanding amount. I feel everyone I spoke to at the ATT retail store and agents I chatted with in phone support deceived me further. Especailly the guy at the att store trying to convince me to add a new line knowing that I had to switch to ATT Next. I was duped since I was feeling good about having purchased my new iphone 6 at apple. shiny new toy. He convienetly left that part out and I never received the $100 Bill credit I was initially offered. Even all the reps over the phone continued to string me along and kept promising i would receive the credit soon. Never happened. Since i did not enroll in ATT Next. And just added the new line to my existing account. LIES!! LIES!! Thanks for locking me into a new 2 year contract.
