What happened to Caring Customer Care?

I like so many have struggled with who is the wireless carrier to follow?  I will have to admit after a frustrating phone conversation with billing/collections it is making me really look into other carriers.  Long story short, there were two withdrawals from my bank account when I paid my bill last month on the same day.  It was just an error.  Things happen.  I called and after 25 minutes on the phone to get one of those refunded, I was greeted with apathy and well too bad attitude.  I also had to send the email to get my one error withdrawal by ATT refunded.  So, after 25 minutes of providing name, and my checking account info, I needed to send an email? Why then did that rep take so much time finding this info out when all he needed to do was tell me sorry you will need to send this in email.  I had asked to talk with a supervisor to share that this process does not make any sense, when I was told, basically it is what it is.  It appears that a withdrawal came out with a text and one online.  I have not received any text message that this occurred and have been with ATT for years and wonder what, this doesn't make sense and truth is, I don't want this to happen again.  How can I avoid this?  I don't know, and I will have to say I doubt from my conversation yesterday that they anyone working there really cares about customer care either!  Bummer ATT, I stuck with you a bit out of loyalty, a bit out of cost and a significant part on customer care.... Without that, you are just part of the wireless gang and without customer loyalty.  Caring customer care, or a better deal, or better coverage?  I am looking now.
