I called back in September when the iPhone 6 pre order dates went live. The representative explained that by going to the next program vs renewing for another two years would be a much better route and my monthly bill only only increase only a few dollars. How you ask (as did I)? According to her, when you're on the 2 year contract, you pay $20 each month for each line for that plan. By going to "next" that fee is eliminated. So while you may have an installment of $32, the bill will only increase $12 because that $20 fee is gone. So my average $157 a month bill would only increase by $25 to $182 or so. Plus I'd get a $100 bill credit for each line switched over to "next".
After the activation of both new iPhones on the next plan, my bill went from the $150-160 to $255!!! I spent an hour and a half on the phone with customer care, with three different individuals. No one could explain why the drastic bill increase except it's because of the new installments. And they have no idea about any $20 monthly fee that was described to me in great detail. And the $200 credit, oh she misspoke that was for added lines, not upgrades.
att is a bunch of sly liars that has horrible customer service. I'm switching over to another carrier in the next couple of days after 10 years plus of loyalty.
