Why am I paying more for Iphone 6 and 6plus

I ordered the IPhone 6 and 6plus on sept. 20, 2014. The salesman talked me into switching from an unlimited data plan that I have had since 2005. I was able to purchase the 6 in the store the same day for my sister who is on my plan. In store price was $299 for the 64g IPhone 6. The salesman indicated that I could get the phone on installment by switching to the next plan. After much concern over giving up my unlimited plan I relented  I just received my new bill today and the the price of the Iphone 6 under installment is $749 instead of $299. I am waiting for the 6plus that was $399 in the store but according to my online account will be $849.99. I do not mind the next plan because my sis and I barely used 500mb a month so having 10gigs is fine, but I am really upset that I am paying more than 2x the amount over the price listed in the store.  Not once did the salesman indicate the difference in price. When he mentioned that I could get a new phone 18-24 months I indicated that I was not interested in that feature and he simply said then you do not have to get a new phone. He was not forthcoming with the price change and my mistake for assuming that I was getting the phone for the price listed in the store...I was ready to purchase outright the Iphone 6 and it was at this point when he informed me that I could do an installment plan going so far as to say he did not need a credit check because I was an existing customer. Now of course it will be his word against mine when I go to battle tomorrow. I do NOT want to pay this extra money. I have not received my Iphone 6plus and according to the order status I am due to get it oct 29-nov 7. I am going to cancel and just buy the phone without installment. if I am wrong with my thinking I would appreciate feedback.

P.S. Addionally At&t deleted all my voicemail on my existing Iphone 5 saying that I signed up for an upgrade and needed to activate my phone. When I called customer service to complain that I can not activate a phone I do not have yet.  I was told that they could not retrieve my voicemail and would have to set up a new voicemail account.
