I recently upgraded my IPhone and just paid my first bill. When I saw the amount it was considerably higher than the customer service/sales person told me it would be. I finally logged on to my online account to find protection plans had been added that I never asked for! I believe that's a "form of slamming". At the very least it's unethical and makes me distrustful. I have had service with AT&T for 20+ years ... Very disappointing.
