Another AT&T nightmare begins!!!

Another AT&T nightmare begins each and every time when I make any change to my account!!! This time was no exception, too!!!

To make a long story short...I ordered (08/18/2015) my phone with a newly added line and cancelled in less than 24 hours (08/19/2015).

It was because ATT made a crucial mistake on the new phone's area code. Although I'm living in GA, the new phone's area code was 609 that is one of NJ area codes!!! I have no CLUE why ATT assigned a NJ area code to my newly added line. No NJ area code options were displayed in the ordering process.

It was 100% clearly ATT's mistake!!! I called ATT and asked to cancel with no charges. One of ATT Customer Service Representatives agreed to the fact that it was 100% clearly ATT's mistake and no charges would be incurred for cancellation!!!

However, I’ve just found in the ATT monthly bill that ATT charged totally $36.83 to my account for NOTHING:

Installment 1 of 30       --- $19.50

Next Activation Fee     --- $15.00

Federal Taxes and etc --- $2.33

One of ATT Customer Service Representatives clearly confirmed that no charges will be incurred for cancellation!!!

NOW why ATT charged $36.83 to my account for their mistake? I had nothing to do with that mistake!!!

WHY should I pay Installment for the phone that I never saw? WHY should I pay Next Activation Fee for the phone that I never had? Above all, WHY should I pay even a penny for your mistake? Why did you assign me a NJ area code and make me pay for that mistake you made?

While I have been a loyal ATT customer for more than a decade, I have a long history of being annoyed by ATT's mistakes!!!

I want to have alogical explanation for why ATT charged $36.83 to my account for their mistake even though I had nothing to do with that mistake!!!
