I have had cellular service with AT&T for the past ten years. While living in Indiana I could easily go to the store and take care of anything I needed with the very helpful staff. In the past five years I have also used u-verse internet. Ever since AT&T made a switch to do more services online their customer service has been attrocious. I have had equipment shipped to the wrong address that I never recieved, was then charged for home installation visit. At this point they started a second account without telling me and never closed the first. Because I went paperless I didn't even know about this until I looked at my credit report. At which point I sat on hold for 57:00 minutes only to get disconnected at 7:00. When I called back the offices were closed for the night! I have moved serveral times and have always had the "option" for u-verse internet, each time my auto bill pay is confused with my cell phones, they cancel one of them or simple cannot find the account that I have had for a decade any longer. After being on hold for at least the 8th time in 5 years for over 40 minutes someone finally told me I could just bundle my bill. Genuis right?! No, i recently damaged my phone and went to the store to purchase a new one. After the in store rep. kindly took nearly an hour to sort out passwords and activation codes that made no sense, we were able to find out that by bundling my phone I was not able to purchase a new phone without calling customer service and taking away the bundle. I have currently been on hold for 24 minutes and no one has been able to help me. Apparently bundling has no financial benefit but it takes 7-10 days to unbundle, during which I am unable to purchase a new device. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told she would try, but it may be a 24 hour hold before I can talk to someone. This is by far the worst service I have had with any company. I would not recommend using AT&T unless you deal with an individual only. They do not care about their online customers, or simply hire incompetent people. If you care about your sanity, service, and credit history they will mess with all three. Do not choose AT&T if you have a choice
