Hello,
I used to be a ATT customer and I canceled my service last year. I paid off all the balance online, and asked the customer service whether I have any unpaid balance, and they told me no. Now one year later, I suddenly noticed that your company created a debt for me and reported me to the credit bureau. I've never heard of this before and no one was trying to reach me through the email or other contact. Now the damage is done. I still paid the money because the debt collector SWC told me that if the case is closed, I can inform you and remove it from my credit report. Could you help me about this? My original ATT phone number is xxxxxxxxxx, and the debt company tells me that my ATT account is xxxxxxxxxxxx. Should you need more information, please reach me at[edited for privacy – please do not post personal information]
I am helpless and I do need your help! I don't even know I owe money to ATT, and the onine chatting representative told me there is no balance left after I canceled the service and paid the money online. Then suddenly in Feb this year I was reported to credit bureau. I am always trying to keep a clean credit history, and now it's ruined completely. All I hope is that ATT can submit a removal for my case in my credit report. I even paid money to close the collection first to show that I care my credit much more than 100 dollars.
Also, if you know how to dispute directly to credit agencies, please let me know.
Thanks.
